About

Stephanie Ellis is a jeweler and designer based in Asheville, NC. She prides herself in only using recycled gold and certified ethically sourced diamonds and gemstones.

She received a BFA in metalsmithing from Iowa State University, and a Master's Degree in Metalsmithing from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.  She has received national recognition for her designs, and has been featured in numerous books, magazine articles, and wedding blogs. Her work is also a part of the permanent collection at Yale University Museum.

Stephanie is a native Iowan who describes herself as an inspired misfit who has always been attracted to under-appreciated curiosities and the beauty hidden within the imperfect.  Early on, she was a creative force and was driven by a deep desire to explore the shadows just beyond the well-worn path.

Although cast out many years ago as being an undesirable stone choice she uses rustic hand faceted rose-cut diamonds along with round brilliant diamonds to create her alternative bridal line.

"There is something incredibly powerful in taking a stone that has been cast away and making it the most important and valued thing you will ever wear."

She merges her love for antique and contemporary jewelry into her handmade, one-of-a-kind designs that aspire to transform bridal and fine jewelry. She combines old-world techniques and styles with modern practices to create a unique look that has one foot in the past and one foot firmly in the future.
